Hello, my name is Lainy and I would like to introduce you to ‘Lainy’s Country Kitchen’.

I am not a professionally trained chef but I have been cooking for a very demanding family for over 30 years. I am Scottish and love cooking traditional Scottish cuisine so on this site there are many dishes that are from my childhood handed down by my mother and grandmother and many tasty treats which are easy to make.

Here in this website, I’ve gathered together all my favourite recipes that I’ve been using over the years. I want to show you how to prepare simple and tasty dishes, like macaroni & cheese, Christmas cake, delicious soups, scones, wonderful Scottish shortbread and lots more!

To make it even easier to cook or bake my favourites, I’ve created online videos of many of my recipes, so that you can see exactly how a dish is made – with all the tips and tricks and nothing hidden away.

I’m lucky enough to have a garden full of fruit trees and through the various seasons I’ll be showing you how you can use fruit and vegetables, from the garden or the supermarket, to make delicious soups, jams, preserves, tarts and quiches.

There are many other video recipes which are easy to follow along with, so that you get the same great results that I do, every time.
